About mindline.sg

mindline.sg is a digital stress management platform that aims to empower and equip individuals with tools, knowledge and pathways to self-care and seek out professional help when needed. As an anonymous platform, one of the goals is to destigmatise mental health by creating a safe space for individuals to gain awareness of their state of wellbeing and take active steps towards building good mental health. Another outcome is to promote help-seeking behaviour by creating convenience with which individuals are able to access self-help therapy and get directed to relevant help agencies based on their needs.

One key feature is a clinically validated self-assessment tool that provides users with a set of recommended actions to take (e.g. call a helpline or do a deep breathing exercise) based on their assessed level of stress and anxiety. Another feature provides individuals with an ability to chat with Wysa, an emotionally intelligent AI chatbot, and be prompted with suitable self-care exercises to complete based on the detected state of emotional wellbeing through the conversation.

With the support of our public health agencies and sector partners, mindline.sg pools together an ecosystem of localised mental health resources within the community and makes it easily accessible to the population in Singapore.

Why mindline.sg was started

mindline.sg was conceived at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020, when Singapore saw huge losses and disruption to our livelihoods. Our population’s state of mental wellbeing took a hit with growing feelings of anxiety and burnout as a result of prolonged economic uncertainties, unemployment, and social isolation.

The COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for MOH Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT) along with Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Institute of Mental Health (IMH) to introduce a digital solution that could help equip individuals with different stress management techniques and practical support resources to support the mental health support and wellness needs of the general population.

With mindline.sg, MOHT seeks to achieve a person-centric mental health system that promotes wellbeing, destigmatises help-seeking behaviour, and develop communities of care and support.

What is in your mind?

Identify what causes your stress and anxiety with clinically validated self-assessment tools

mindline.sg’s mental health web app uses clinically validated self assessment tests – PHQ-9 and GAD-7, which allows users to gain a better understanding of their current levels of anxiety or depression, before offering them recommendations on the next possible steps of action (e.g. calling a helpline or doing a mindfulness breathing exercise to calm the nerves).

Individuals also have free access to a national paid subscription of Wysa – an emotionally intelligent chatbot. To supplement a growing need for professional counselling and therapy services in Singapore, Wysa serves as a 24/7 accessible pocket therapist that removes any mental barriers towards help-seeking for your emotional wellbeing. Wysa understands user conversations and recommends specific interesting self-care exercises, e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) exercises, targeted at the user’s trouble points.

How has mindline.sg helped others like you?

“For myself, I like ‘sleep sounds’ in the Wysa app (via mindline.sg). As a beach and nature lover, I miss my beach holidays and overseas hikes. The wide selection of ‘sleep sounds’ in the Wysa mobile app is something that I appreciate much - sounds of the sea waves and ocean breeze, sounds of rustling leaves, birds, crickets and streams in the forest. Wysa also offers simple exercises such as reflections on what we are thankful for, what and who matters to us; and these can help us to remain grounded and sane, amidst the many adjustments that we have to adapt to.”
